Memory Lane: Choosing to Emerge

January 8, 2018 by Louise LeBrun Leave a Comment

The start of a new year and the opportunity to pause… and make it count!

It can be a daunting prospect:  carving out space and time to focus 100% of your attention on yourself; choosing to leave no stone unturned in acknowledging, out loud, what you know already moves within.  Not in the usual bits-and-pieces approach but in a concerted and wholistic way that makes it impossible to hide from yourself.

Perhaps, we are all long overdue for a journey within that leaves us breathless with possibility and a little edgy from having made the trip.  Perhaps, we can rediscover our ability to trust that fear and trepidation can morph into excitement and enthusiasm.  And just perhaps, we can reclaim our birthright and ability to dare to face into a life that makes the heart beat a little faster and the blood rush through our veins.  After all, if not that – then what?

========================================

The following closing thoughts can be found at the end of:
Episode 17 of ‘Reclaiming Your Self: Women Unedited and Engaged!’ on the topic of ‘Carving Out a Meaningful Life’.
========================================

Where do you stand at this moment in your life? Are you curious about what a more meaningful life might bring into your day-to-day experience of yourself?  If you’re ready to give it a shot and consider how else you might choose to live your life today, here are a few simple thoughts to entertain.

  • Find a quiet place… a quiet moment… and take two or three nice long, slow, deep breaths.  Begin by emptying your lungs and allowing your body’s great desire to live, to take the lead… as you marvel at your body’s wisdom and ability to simply inhale all on its own, without the need for you to press it into action. As you notice this, ask yourself:  “Where else in my Life am I not letting go and trusting my innate intelligence to lead the way?   How else in my Life am I forcing things – perhaps a breath…a conversation… a decision – when in truth, all I need to do is let go and trust that it will move, in it own time.”
  • As you allow yourself to connect with new thoughts which begin to float up, making their way to the surface of your awareness, give yourself permission not to choose, and notice which thoughts choose you.  The thoughts that stay with you;  the ones that linger and continue to present, despite the introduction of other thoughts; the ones that in some way seem familiar, yet perhaps long lost, and are now re-entering your awareness.  No need to judge them, to choose them, or even to engage them.  What matters most in this moment is that you invite and allow them … that you simply let go and allow them to be present. Nothing to do but invite, allow and observe.
  • And finally, when the moment presents for you to be able to devote your full attention to the experience, allow yourself to consider:  “Where inside myself does my meaningful Life live?”  Let that question rumble through the tissue of your body, allowing your hand to be drawn to that place on your body where your meaningful life lives.  Placing your hand softly on that part of your body, invite energy and information above and below that place, to begin to move. Opening a channel between these two points above and below; softening the core inside where your live; and let energy and information begin to move from each of these two points… up and down through the place where your hand rests softly on the body.  Keep your body relaxed; belly soft; shoulders down and let your body do the work.
Trust your body to lead!  It is the one thing in your life that  you can trust will never, ever betray you.
