“Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.” (Frank Herbert, ‘Dune’)
I retired in 2015 from the full-time engagement of my life’s work of the previous 25 years. I turned my attention to other things… things that I had too often overlooked or ignored, or placed comfortably on the back burner to make the constant press for my own evolution possible. Time passed… Grandchildren arrived…. and I delightedly embraced a new way of moving through my world.
With that passage of time and redirection of attention, I have come to notice that my mind has gotten lazy. I will often have a thought and a fleeting moment of writing about that thought… and instead, I tell myself that any potential reader will not really care and I turn to some version of Netflix, distracting myself with the passive-lump existence that has become so easy for me to get lost in.
And then, right in the midst of this slow detachment from so many layers of my previous life, along comes covid and the global pandemic. Shall I snooze through this one, too, I wonder? Shall I simply continue to sit back and watch it all go by? And what does it matter whether I do or don’t? I’m coming to recognize: it matters to me – and in truth, that’s all that counts.
As a very long-time student of hypnosis and mind control, I recognize the patterns when I see them.
I recognize the strategy to establish trance and then deepen it… ensuring waves of fear followed by relief, followed by a deeper fear and a greater relief… and on it goes. It is this rhythm that leads us to the desperate desire for it to stop and for stability… any stability!… to make its way back into our lives and stay.
I recognize the intense effort to ensure that attention is redirected from an individual focusing on him/herself to focusing on some force outside themselves… and surrendering to it.
I recognize the loss of ’the pause’ – the ability to take a step back and engage a long, slow, deep breath that we might connect to something inside ourselves, look in a different direction and notice – and the relentless press to ensure that we remain on constant high-alert and without any sense of feeling able to ground in a self-determined truth.
Given that all is mind, mind control creates magic – and magic can be used for the expansion of good or evil. It is always the choice of the magician. And like any good magician knows: keep their attention on the right hand while the left hand gets the job done.
This so-called pandemic is the mesmerizing movement of the right hand…. while the left hand continues to shape the direction necessary to fulfill an intention that lives outside our awareness and is not our own. The purported pandemic is not the thing itself – it is the tool that has been and continues to be used to leverage us…. to move billions of us… in a different direction. Unquestioningly. Urgently. Quickly and without benefit of ’the pause’ to notice anything different.
As leverage for that new direction, Covid has been useful to:
– terrify us and create a state of panic – causing us to ‘lose our mind’ – leading to an ultimate submission to an imposed solution;
– divide us into groups and pit one group against another;
– seed deep distrust so in our desperation for safety, we turn on each other for any divergence of ‘truth’;
– mesmerize us with non-stop, 24/7 reporting on ever-increasing misery;
– trick and confuse us by constantly changing the story; using language that deepens our attraction to external stories rather than our internal truth;
– separate us – first and most critically – from ourself, leaving us grasping for something/anything or someone/anyone outside ourselves to lead us… and keep us safe;
– seek to make us right in our choice – despite an unrelenting nagging hesitancy – by making every other choice wrong.
A Needle in Every Arm
We have moved from a global conversation about how to remain healthy to the droning mantra of “a needle in every arm”… for its own sake. The long-held right of dominion over one’s own body bleeds profusely from its hoist onto the sacrificial alter of the ‘common good’. It is a slippery slope and a quick slide…
What any really effective magician also knows is that their subjects are only highly suggestible until the moment they choose to think for themselves. It is a dance… and that dance requires willing participants. For that, the magician must be willing to do what it takes to ensure that trance is sustainable. We now bear witness to that every day.
For generations, we have been trained to be passive and willingly surrender our individual wellbeing (of body, mind and emotion) to a perceived authority figure. Long before age 7, we know that our very survival depends on our ability to be compliant and – whatever the consequences – be compliant again the next time. The Jesuits have long known: give me a child until they’re 7 and I will have them for the rest of their lives.
We have been trained to live a sound-byte life. Our tolerance for detail is minimal and ever-diminishing. Our ability to focus for more than 20 minutes at a time is significantly impaired. There is already much available from equally competent, credentialed experts and specialists that questions, challenges and blatantly defies the ’truth’ of both virus and pandemic. However, in order for us to discover that we have to be willing to watch/listen/read at both length and depth – and we simply are no longer able. And so, rather than rediscover this lost art, we abdicate and leave it to the designated ‘experts’ of our parental-authority surrogates to just tell us what to do.
Information distorted. Information hidden. Information as smoke screen. Half-truths and misdirection. The only way to recognize it is to dare to trust your own inner cues. That is, if you have any idea how to do that. Few in today’s world are even able to recognize what that means.
Until we free ourselves of this deeply embedded habituation of mind through intergenerational parenting and its surrogates (i.e. organized religion and standard schooling) as its conduit, we cannot and will not dare question any voice of perceived authority. That means any voice that represents what we were taught to consider ‘parental power’ – the power to dictate what we will believe to be real and true; the power to shape and determine who we are.
This pandemic is a perfect example of our compliance with the dictates of ‘experts’ and ‘authority’. Covid is but one thread in a tapestry whose design we cannot see. Massive effort – 24/7 – persists to ensure that we remain in trance and only know that single thread as it winds its way through our lives, with the expectation on the part of the weavers that we will adapt and allow ourselves to become embedded in the design of the much larger tapestry. Ultimately, that becomes a choice but only when we know that we have the power to influence the design. For that, we must first become willing to stand alone and think for ourselves.
Covid is a strategy for a much greater transformation of global culture and its redesign of expression. It is the moment in our shared ‘reality’ when shocking the medium is in its deepest waves of transformation.
It is not the purported virus that will kill us – it’s our inability and unwillingness to stop…. breathe deeply… and descend into our own intuitive knowing: to know that we have what it takes to stay well; that we are creatures well-able to strengthen what we need to choose meaningfully for ourselves; and that we have choice in a world that is surrounding us with the essential un-truth that that is not so. We do not need to know ’the answer’, we need only become willing to trust a different source of the vital information we require to live.
The greatest casualty of this pandemic is our descent into mindless group-think and our abdication from our own essential truth – the essential byproducts of our recruitment into the Cult of Covid and its reliance on our doing just that.
What is truth? Perspective from direct experience vs the story of someone else’s experience? If you have no direct experience of x, and are seeking to form a conclusion on x, then you are doing so based on your trust of the story teller. In such moments, the absence of manipulation is highly unlikely.
There is only one path forward: unplug from the megaphone of the collective and take a chance on and a stand for a trust in your own inner truth. Your immune system at multiple levels of thinking can release you from the fear of death by Covid 19; it can free you from the capture of group pressure to comply; and it can lead you to where you need to go.
First, make peace with your own death. We all know of its inevitable arrival. It is but a question of when and how. We are not powerless in the design of both.
Next, surrender your need for an authority to guide you. Surrender your child-like belief that some authority is acting in your best interests. Become adept at guiding yourself.
Finally, know that it never ends. There is no answer… no conclusion… no finish line. There is only the moment-by-moment unfolding of your own potential. Choose to step into it rather than capitulate to a faceless ‘other’.
Snake-oil salesman are shapeshifters… and powerful magicians. Too often, they present as saviour in the face of our greatest fears. Do not be fooled by the impact of a good trance induction. It is up to you to snap out of it… and choose a path of your own.
Every generation has the opportunity to leave its mark. For those of us known as ‘Boomers’, this is our time. We have nothing to lose and much to gain for our children and their children. We can stand by and watch our children’s and our grandchildren’s futures embark on a perilous slide into the massive loss of their potential or we can carve out a different path. For this, we must be willing to die.
Our inevitable end is death. We live at a time where we get to notice, identify and define what matters more to us than our fear of death or what lives outside of us. We get to choose how and where we stand when our exit beckons. And in that stand – from that place – we can alter the course of our children’s futures.
One final thought: while we are consumed by the constant barrage of pandemic pandemonium, climate change is wreaking havoc around the world… and we are too distracted to notice. Again: right hand/left hand? All meaning is context dependent. For every ’thing’ that we focus on, we can be sure that there is a much larger, more potent and life-shaping ’thing’ within which that is unfolding. Dare we look up at what contains us rather than constantly looking down at what immobilizes us?
Now is not yet my time. I can feel mySelf waking up.
Thank you
Powerful and exactly what I needed to read. Thank you for that powerful reminder Louise.
Hi Louise,
‘Ascent into chaos’ was the first piece I read of yours, maybe around 1.5 year ago, and I left that article hearing and recognizing an intrinsically familiar voice inside me reflected through your words… a few weeks later I was engaged with Deb in one of her programs.
I’m 26 and oftentimes have this consideration you described of “Shall I snooze through this one, too, I wonder? Shall I simply continue to sit back and watch it all go by? And what does it matter whether I do or don’t? I’m coming to recognize: it matters to me – and in truth, that’s all that counts.”
Owning what matters to me. This body of knowledge and the active process of relating with women who I have met through WEL-Systems: Sheila, Deb, Naomi, Stela, Mandy, and others… has offered me a remarkable stability (which oftentimes, has been best accessed through leaning into my own sense of instability) from which to root and feel safe to fully Land, despite any turbulence I might experience along the way.
This all to say, Thank You.
The journey continues…
xoxo
Oh….so good to read this. It so resonates with so much of this current time of ‘insanity’. Thanks for some sanity…… and the invitation….
This moves every fiber of my being:
“We have moved from a global conversation about how to remain healthy to the droning mantra of “a needle in every arm”… for its own sake. The long-held right of dominion over one’s own body bleeds profusely from its hoist onto the sacrificial alter of the ‘common good’. It is a slippery slope and a quick slide…”
Thank you so much for your words, your expression of self that is an aspect of me I needed to experience as a wave today, I am willing to stand alone, with all the others standing alone in their own truth in this moment…
Thank you
Wow Louise this is very controversial you are such a powerful writer and such a powerful voice in my life. I love it every word of it and would love to share this with the world but the powers that be hold us in the dark afraid to reach out to the light to express our inner truth. If we do not hide behind the veil of accepted speech our tongues are cut from mouths, our voices held mute and our faces covered in the name of anonymity in the name of invisibility. If one has no mouth they have no voice and if they have a voice then the language must be monitored, changed and warped so that the acceptable narrative is the only story that is ever heard the only history that is ever recorded. The Natives of your land (Canada) and mine (USA) had the best method of History Preservation “The Oral Tradition” does not lie the stories evolve as history evolves as life evolves and grows and blossoms and seeds and withers and dies and gives birth to new life – The Story is Life and lies, untruths, slight handedness and illusionists are the harbingers of stagnation and entropy the snake eating the tale until the story disappears…. You always draw the most profound thoughts from this foggy mind – you funny old crone… Your hummingbird is never far away…
