At some point, each of us must decide: from which side of the dotted line (Quantum Biological Human™) do we choose to engage? Do we choose to live from habit and repetition or do we choose to live from potential? The outcome of that choice determines whether we live IN ’the muck’ or whether we live FROM possibility.
Lately, I have been in frequent conversations with others that seem to create openings to explore ‘the 30-second pause’. In my (now) decades of experience – in my own life and in the lives of others – the difference between invitation as the outcome, or control as the outcome, is 30-seconds. In a moment of parenting, for example, that 30-second pause determines whether a child is given the space to discover a different way (i.e. a future orientation)… or is punished for the way they already know (i.e. a past orientation). The power always rests in the hands of the parent to choose.
When we choose to develop the habit of the 30-second pause BEFORE we take action, magic begins to flow through our realities!
Thirty seconds. That’s all it takes to stop…. drop your attention inside, to the base of your spine… and take three, long, slow, deep inhales and exhales…. and allow your body to settle. Once completed, only then do you turn your attention to: now, how do I CHOOSE to respond (or not); and for what intentional outcome.
Thirty seconds. That’s all it takes to stop and intentionally return to the ’now’… to the moment the I AM that you are can occupy your body… and then, CHOOSE the next moment of your expression.
First, and always, that 30-second pause makes way for a mindful, intentional return to the Signal of Self – present and moving through tissue – to influence the creation of your reality.
That 30-second pause becomes the internal cue.. the trigger… for an act of great RIG (Respect, Integrity and Generosity of Spirit) to infuse your next behavioural choice.
Whatever the situation, the 30-second pause is an act of love: for yourself (to live an intentional life) and for others (to respect their right to live their intentional life).
Make any sense to you?
I choose to live in that 30-second pause. No reflex action. No habits (the past) in control of creation (the future).
That mindless, knee-jerk (and jerk can have more than one meaning, here) is the most challenging habit to break. Your intellect is not powerful enough to make that happen. Only your body can free you from this tyranny of the past.
