My daughter lives in NZ – she is married to a New Zealander and has her residency visa. As hard as it is to have her on the other side of the planet – literally – I am grateful that she has such an enlightened, forward thinking leader of her adopted country as well as a strong woman role model. Here in the US we have none of these currently and it is disheartening and some days terrifying. There are no safe places left in the world as the Christchurch mosque massacres show (my daughter lives in ChCh) but at least she lives in a country with a responsive and compassionate government and leader. Thanks for sharing this video!
Hi Susan,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts – much appreciated.
Years ago, Kofi Annan (then Sec-Gem of the UN) is quoted to have said: “The future of the world is in the hands of women.” I happen to believe that. As women become more willing and (sufficiently safe to be) able to speak to their inner truth, hope rises in us all that there is another way. Perhaps, in the US, Marianne Williamson will introduce a new way of speaking to potential that can be heard by the many. A paradigm shift does not come from tinkering at the edges but from daring to strip away the status quo and leave it in a crumpled heap on the floor.
Clearly, your daughter has chosen well – on many fronts – for herself. Something tells me she already has a great role model!
