Growth in consciousness doesn’t depend on the will of the intellect or its possibilities
but on the intensity of the inner urge. (Egyptian proverb)
========================
January 1, 2019. Today is likely a more meaningful day than most to declare: “Today, is the first day of the rest of my life!”
I could give you the long version of the long story but will instead, just cut to the bottom line. (Your welcome!)
Three simple decisions to declare as I take ownership of my Life in the coming year:
* Trade hope for enthusiasm! Every day that I open my eyes and am still here, I am choosing to step into that day with the same question I have been asking mySelf for 20 years: “How does the godforce that I AM choose to live MY life, today?” My enthusiasm will be my guide in determining the direction my day will take. Not enthusiastic? Choose something else. Better to be at peace in my own good company than struggle to do what is perceived to be ’the right thing’ by someone else’s measure.
* Milk the moment! Whatever it brings, however it is unfolding, this very moment is my opportunity to look for that ‘ something’ that will allow me to continue to evolve. Given that I’m in that moment, might as well look for the invitation that it brings into my life; discover the insight or provocation to ‘become’; open myself to the course correction that it presents. Through it all, notice the story that is unfolding in and through that moment… and since the stories I tell myself ARE the boundaries of my own potential, be mindful of that to which I lay claim. Better a moment without story than one that keeps me small and afraid.
* Embrace the sublime! Wherever I am – the space I occupy, the people I spend time with, the conversations I engage, the topics I explore, etc…. – I can trust that in any given moment, I can find the pause… the infinite moment… that allows me to stop; to listen; to rest; to ask; to invite and allow.
Only I can be the creator of my own Web of Life; of the context within which my days will unfold. To accept that; to lay claim to that and take ownership of it, ensures that when seeking to hold someone accountable for the state of my Life, I am the only one that I can find.
Happy New Year!
