Masterful Liars

March 24, 2020 by Louise LeBrun 8 Comments

It is not a good or a bad time… it is simply the time we are in.

We find ourselves here and now because we have what it takes to move through this; and if we are both willing and able to embrace this moment – without resistance, without fear and without the desire to run – we will find our way through.

I am here and now because the I AM (the Signal/Self) that I am, is both willing and able.  I just have to listen and follow the lead.

I am here and now because I am part of a flow, from a place outside space and time of these day-to-day events, that is already bringing discovery and the desire to let go.

In my own time in this place, I have learned to recognize, acknowledge and take ownership of that which was the greatest detriment to my own evolution. I have learned to watch and listen for it – in myself and others. I have learned to recognize its many disguises; the many forms it takes and the vast array of trickery that may be called upon to cover up its true nature. I have learned to watch for and listen for the patterns upon which it relies to give credence to its deepest deceptions that another might be swayed and swallowed whole into the hidden intent.

If we are not speaking truth, we are speaking untruth. And when we seek to build a life… a world… on a platform of untruth, its demise is inevitable and unavoidable. In our collective reality, that time has come.

Lying. We have become masterful liars. Masterful at shielding… masking… hiding… misdirecting…that the deepest parts of us – the deepest parts of our intentions – remain hidden under a cloak of good deeds and well wishes. We have learned to perfect what we were taught as small, vulnerable, helpless and terrified children… in the hope that we would save ourselves from ever knowing the depth of that pain, again.

Were we to ban one thing that already shapes our world, it would be lying. Were we to be stripped of our ability to do anything other than speak the simple expression of what is true for us… right here, right now, in this very moment… we could create a paradise on Earth rather than expanding the hellish collection that now stalks us.

Lying as a way of life.

Lying as a strategy for success.

Lying as a way to sustain a pretence that long ago, should have met its natural end.

If we are not speaking a truth, we are building a reality on a falsehood. How could anything sustain itself on deception?

We lie to hide ourselves from ourselves and each other. We seek to control and shape our reality through manipulation of the information available to another. We build a house of cards… held together by a web of deception… and lie awake long into the night, terrified that we will be decloaked and revealed to be other than who we have been marketing ourselves to be.

Truth is not an absolute – it is an organic, living, breathing, moving snapshot of a moment in time… that we might come to better know the truth of our own intention and expression. Truth is fluid, adaptable, enquiring… and can change as we choose to evolve and become more of our own potential. Truth stands on a platform of being able to change your mind… to shift and turn and become… and tell a new truth. It is not that truth is not alive and does not grow… it is that in the single moment of its expression, its complete revelation is what will serve us. In that revelation, permission for a new discovery is both granted and taken… and we move forward. Without that living, breathing, organic expression of our unique, whole and timely truth, we become trapped in the mindless repetition of an untruth, desperately trying to find our way off of the hamster’s wheel. In that, we quickly become unwell of body, mind and Spirit.

Be yourSelf and tell your truth from one moment to the next. Change your mind and reveal that change. Say yes when you mean it and no when you mean that. Ask for what you want.

“I don’t know” is a complete sentence and needs no justification. “Not right now” is as deserving of respect from another as is acquiescence and compliance. “I’ve changed my mind” is evidence of having one and confirmation of your willingness to respect it.

We can resign from a life of Masterful Lying. We can dare to test-drive what personal truth might create. We are not beyond salvaging what remains of our lives, our planet and our ability to become the fulfillment of our birthright. Yes, it takes courage. Yes, it requires that we dare…. experience… and dare again. My life is worth it – is yours?

What a testament this post is to the power of honoring ourselves and our deepest truth in each moment. So many of us chose to be here and now. Let’s make the most of it! What you wrote about “complete revelation” is especially compelling to me. I’ve been playing with what happens when I reveal big truths only to myself, when I reveal key aspects to others, when I reveal everything to others — and however I configure those expressions, as long as I’m honest and authentic (even in vulnerability), they always point toward something bigger, toward more life. MORE LIFE! What a freakin’ thrill!

Yesterday, I found myself in tears and I said to my husband, ‘In this moment, I am scared.’ Truth.

I have read through your post twice. I’ll read it again. All I can say, right now, is that I find it highly moving and relevant to where we find ourSelves now and who were are becoming… and I have no clue what that is going to look like. I just know that it is essential; it is necessary.

This may be the finest, the most succinct, the most finely edged and the most eloquent writing that you have channeled into words ever. Masterful Liars says it all. THAT is the truth of whom we have become.
Lying has been an industry and that industry is now in full default of itself. The virus is the global fall-out of that default. Lying has been the pandemic denied of life as we have known it. It is finally losing its thrust; even dead, this virus is speaking out and taking us as masterful liars out.

That is how your words fit into my perceptions of what we are living.

    Thank you, Louise.

Brilliant post, such great timing. I am aware that we can’t hold the constructs of the lie and the fear that is now raging on this planet in our bodies at the same time. It creates a kind of chaos that collapses the house of cards. We’ve been taught to build a house of cards, which is actually an illusion because it’s all based on lies, and then stay very still, quiet, and small so the house doesn’t fall down. Even though the human population has not found a way to wake up and see the house of cards even exists, the virus can see it. The virus is collapsing the house of cards right out from under us. What do we do when the dust settles, do we rebuild the lie or do we find a new way forward? This is the STOP point, what comes next is the choice – illusion or emerging future of our own design?
