It’s not enough just to know. You have to choose to LIVE what you know… or your life becomes a constant stream of habituated blah blah blah – and nothing changes.
Sometimes, I’m shocked by how much time has passed and how so little of the world has changed. If anything, I am bearing witness to a world desperate to hang on – not because doing so is in any way meaningful or valuable but because it’s familiar. We have been long trained into making peace with the misery we know so well.. as if it is a comfortable suit of armour that protects us from the unknown and its new complexities.
I originally wrote this piece in 2007. Such is the ‘shelf life’ of explorations fuelled by process rather than content. Maybe its re-emergence will hold some meaning for you as you choose the design and quality of your own life. Enjoy!
