How, then, shall you choose?

January 6, 2023 by Louise LeBrun

In the last month or so, I’ve written about the relationship between choice and intention; and about the underpinnings of truth and its deep roots in the mind-shaping process of parenting (and its surrogates) who fly the flag of our best interests and keeping us safe. The pull to simply capitulate and abdicate to ‘the voice of (a caring) authority’ is a tough one for us to resist. After all, doing so has shaped us into who we have become.  We want to believe that someone else with power really does care and wants the best for us.  Old habits die hard.

What a mess! As Canadians, we have known decades upon decades of a pretty comfortable, predictable and stable environment – physically, economically, politically and governmentally – within which to live our lives. Now… not so much!

There are those who would like us to think we should not worry our pretty little heads about it and just let our grown-up leaders/surrogates do what’s best for us. All we have to do is trust and just do what we’re told and it will all be just fine. Oops… wait a minute…. my bullshit detector is firing off. I think I’ll pay more attention rather than less.

What are you going to do? How well-attended is your bullshit detector? For many of us, it’s been way too long since it’s had a tune up; a test drive; and been dutifully tweaked for maximum performance. Now would be a good time to rectify that.  To seek to make intelligent choices without it will ensure the inner chaos that will press for abdication, compliance and silence.

Many wise people have long said: nothing changes until we do. That means, if I want my outside world to be different, I have to do what it takes to ensure that my inside world is different. My external reality will always reflect the inner landscapes of my beliefs, values and attitudes that have shaped my choices. Methinks that the current state of the world indicates that such change in our inside worlds is now essential to our quality of life.

Doing the same-old/same-old is not going to work. I know… it’s a pain in the ass. It takes time, attention and effort to step outside of and beyond the habits of history; to stop…. and allow the quality of our lives to catch up to us so that we can feel the full impact ; and then, to find a way to learn how to make that desperately-needed inside shift so that we might engage meaningfully and choose with clarity of vision and its required intention.  No small feat…

Below, you’ll find a link to a brief conversation with Stela Murrizi on the topic of:

Accelerated Evolution: A WEL-Systems® Approach

We can’t change anything until we know how to make that change. New ways of being will not come from old ways of thinking. Habits of mind may work well for parking the car or mowing the lawn…. but they will make for disastrous outcomes when it comes to making the choices that will shape the reality with which our children (and theirs) will be required to cope. The WEL-Systems® extensive body of knowledge is not a destination – it is a road map. We all know well that if we want to change our destination, we will need to be able to figure out how to get there.

If what Stela has to say awakens something in you, contact her directly to explore what’s possible. Her contact info is in the show notes for the interview.

If you’re curious and want to explore on your own, consider the Decloaking and Living Authentically audio material (20 hours). You can listen to the first hour for free on the website. If you do that, you’ll know whether or not this approach is the right one for you.

Final thought: good luck! We are all going to need it to navigate through the times to come. It does not have to be hard – we just need to be awake, aware, mindful and attentive.  We need to pay attention and live authentically from the moment within which we find ourselves. We have everything we need to create a meaningful, relevant and joyful Life. What’s changed is that we can no longer just presume it will be there for us, without our involvement.
