Three Things

The challenges continue, as billions around the globe are faced with affronts to their deep commitment to habits of body and mind. Gone are the days of ’normal’… when it seemed that the greatest of challenges would rise up in the lives of others – but not my own.

In this moment, I am mindful of three things on which I must keep my focus:

* I don’t know what’s real or true ‘out there’ – and I know without hesitation or confusion what is real and true for me – in here, where I live. Owning the moment I’m in; inviting and allowing… and knowing that the Flow of my Life will take me forward.

The constant blah blah of news reports on the previous news reports and the news reports coming up, is not only exhausting, it is a gigantic sucking mechanism for the depletion of the human Spirit. Once a day, I check in to see what is happening in Canada and then, push the off button. More would be a waste of my precious Life.

* I choose to focus the significant power of my attention and intention on what brings meaning into my life. I direct my mind to seek input that will expand the flow of the I AM that I am and not that which will accelerate my collapse into my own fear and dread.

I remind myself that I am not alone; that I am surrounded by many of deep caring and even deeper strength of Spirit and Will. As I reach out to them, I feel their presence and know that in whatever stand I may take in my Life, I am never alone.

* I choose to stay in the NOW.. in the present moment in which I find mySelf. To move into a future fuelled by fear and a ‘worst case scenario’ is depleting of and debilitating to any ability to shape a meaningful Life.

The body can only live in the NOW… in the moment in which breath moves in and out, making way for the next and the many to follow. When I forget that and think that moving into the future will serve me, my body tightens to remind me that I am getting ahead of and outside of mySelf; and that breathing is the greatest power I have, in the moment-to-moment expression of my existence.

I remind myself: Do not allow the frantic mind to carry me out of the moment I’m in. When I forget and allow that to happen, I come to know the deepest meaning of what it is to be powerless.

I encourage you to stop… take a breath.. and decide for yourself:  what are the Three Things that you are allowing to shape your reality?
