Evolution unending: unmarked territory beckons

December 29, 2019 by Louise LeBrun 2 Comments

As always, my time spent with the amazing and precious LesDebs (Deb Ozarko and Deb Gleason) has left me with more to ponder.

During a very recent conversation, we found ourselves travelling along a familiar path of exploring what evolution – for its own sake rather than for the need to solve a problem – requires and demands of us.  At one point, we came to the end of a well-worn path and face into wilder terrain: unmarked, without benefit of prior footfalls and beckoning for the courage to dare…

In a subsequent note to LesDebs, this thought took shape within my own curiosity:

“I can now better appreciate the pattern I have so often borne witness to: that of evolution being abandoned at the moment when one can no longer find familiar expression at the Environment/Behaviour level for the awakened device. To simply continue to do what it knows how to do may be functional for the device AND it is no longer acceptable to its animating Presence. Somewhere between giving up and going back to the familiar or choosing the destruction of the device, there lives a Space where meaningful expression can be found. Personally?  I have not yet found it… and I know it is discoverable. Perhaps the key is to not surrender, so quickly, to either of the obvious or the familiar. It takes courage and a deepening trust in Self to simply keep moving forward into the uncharted, allowing what presents to be found. “

Not your typical Holiday Season exploration and one that allows me to continue to find joy in not having a hot clue!

Leaves me wondering:  in this purported time of celebration, can we celebrate our own unraveling that we might weave a new tapestry for ourSelves?  Just a thought….

Ah, yes…it is the celebration of this torus of unraveling and renewal that is key, me thinks! Thank you, Louise!!!
