Sometimes, at first notice, none of it makes any sense. The intellect’s need for logic, reason, evident progression, etc. tends to force a ‘practical’ conclusion long before a life-altering one would naturally and organically find its way to the surface. Having both the willingness and the ability to simply stay…. fully present, engaged and engaging…. in the conversation and follow where it leads, requires the trust and courage that any art form will compel.
In a world run by the clock and the need to ‘produce’; the need to race to the finish line as evidence of our prowess and the ‘rightness’ of our intention will often leave the genius that could have been birthed by our meanderings to simply dry up and blow away, ignored as a byproduct of our absence of vision and parched in the blistering heat of our dismissive and overbearing ignorance of believing that anything that does not appear as we think it should is not worth noting.
Sheila Winter Wallace shares with us but a small portion of the power of just such a meandering; the byproduct of being both willing and able to stay in the conversation and see where it takes us. In her recent blog post, we are offered a snapshot of but one frame of this extended – and continuing – exploration unfolding amongst four women who trust that there is genius in all lines of enquiry, evidenced by the fact that the exploration has arisen. From there – when we trust and have the courage to let it lead – the natural intelligence for each participant will simply emerge if we are willing to allow it to do so.
Thank you, Sheila, for being willing to share.
