On teaching our children:
“I would invest in emotional intelligence because they would need a lot of mental balance in order to cope with a very hectic and constantly changing world. Nobody knows how to teach EI on a massive scale. ”
I agree with the essential need to teach our children EI and I disagree with the notion that we do not know how to do it on a massive scale. Two fundamentals are required:
- First, penetration of cultural coma. A line of enquiry for adults that makes it possible, through education and direct experience, to awaken to the very existence of an inner truth; and then
- Recalibration for the purpose and process of parenting by these adults, as the delivery mechanism for the ability of intergenerational culture to take our children hostage.
I’ve spent close to 30 years watching adults change their lives and go on to seed that potential in the lives of others. As a species, we are highly contagious. The question now goes beyond, ‘What are we spreading?” to “What do we choose to spread?”. As living expressions of a force of creation through tissue, we cannot NOT create. The question becomes: are we awake in that creation or in a coma? Either way, we will shape reality for ourselves and the generations to come.
We are running out of time to wake up.
