Another powerful, thought-provoking and compelling post by Deb Ozarko!
I’ve been following the ‘climate change’ conversation for a very long time. From the early days with James Lovelock (Gaia Hypothesis) and Ervin Laszlo (co-founder of the Club of Budapest – new paradigms in science and consciousness) to the current growing roster of deeply committed and informed men and woman of all ages raising their voices, drawing attention to the incredibly obvious yet seemingly ignorable challenges around the habitat that sustains life. My life. Your life. Not to mention, the lives of innumerable other species that are powerless in the face of our seemingly endless ways to ensure desecration of the Sacred.
Perhaps the greatest desecration of the Sacred is that which we heap upon ourselves…. oblivious to the expansive and awaiting inner truth that each of us intuitively knows yet finds inaccessible. That most Sacred of places… within ourselves… that only each of us, in our own way, can touch. Without that willingness and ability to touch it… to make friends with it… to reclaim it despite the enormous pressure and myriad ways that our intergenerational cultural conditioning has taught us to deny its existence and remain distanced… we are indeed, doomed to reap the natural outcomes of our mindless separation.
Deb Ozarko’s is a voice that speaks to that deeply intimate, personal and most Sacred, within. Beyond the inventory of abounding miseries; beyond the litany of options that ensure the ever-increasing slippage into our own disappearance, Deb speaks passionately and powerfully to the one thing that can make a difference: our own great awakening.
This latest post – The Endless Loop of Sameness – (part 1 of 3) seeks to stir the dying embers of our own conscious connection to anything! Seeks to breathe Life across those grey and fading vestiges of our own potential to do the right thing… the only thing… that can save us from our impending misery: dive into our Self. However terrifying that dive may seem to be. However it might affect the day-to-day operations of our lives. Whomever it might upset, offend, disrupt, irritate. The call is for us to awaken, within, the Blessed Irritant that each of us must become in order to find meaningful closure in what has become a meaningless, mundane and mindless repetition of the status quo.
Perhaps, in the end, all that we will have is what we have always only had: ourSelf. The difference may be in our level of denial… in our level of inner decay… as evidenced by the layers of our own corrosion due to the beckoning ‘”Oooo…. shiny!” exclamations of our day-to-day choices. Nonetheless, whether we reverse climate collapse (right… good luck with that one!) or we don’t, we still face the ultimate final solution: our own demise. Kicking and screaming? Raging at the endless supply of ‘others’ to blame for it all? Terrified and collapsed into our own worst version of ourselves? Because whatever Gaia does, we will still have to face that final choice… and how we do that may matter more than anything else.
