To Share or Not to Share: that is the question….

April 5, 2018 by Louise LeBrun Leave a Comment

I choose to stay informed. In particular, I choose to stay informed about climate change, AI development and the transhumanism movement – my top three on a much longer list. In addition, bits and pieces of ‘life’ drift in and out of my awareness. These include local events in my community, what my friends and colleagues are up to, the lives of my sons and their partners/friends/colleagues, dancing cat videos and odd-ball behaviours of a random selection of living creatures… including human beings.

I also stay plugged in to what my Mom is up to. Still strong of body at 93, even though she may not know who I am, I still know who she is. Life has a way of curving the highway of its expression, leading to new stops along the way. I trust that the important thing is to follow those twists and turns and make those stops.

As much as I sometimes am sparked by a new thought (a new insight into my own perceptions, leading to evolution of some kind) to make my way to the keyboard to share this insight, all does not always go as planned. I find myself wondering: now that I’ve had that insight; now that it has integrated into my own body and changed my ability to perceive differently, does it really matter? Does sharing that insight make a difference for anyone else when I know it has already made its difference with me? If our reality is indeed a holographic experience, am I not now just talking to myself about something I already know?

I have no idea what is causing the rapid and (to me) declining change evidenced through global upheaval of weather patterns. As I sit comfortably in my little corner of the world, I watch the human misery unfold on an increasingly larger scale. I sometimes feel the need to bear witness, as an expression of the sacred acknowledgement that those so profoundly damaged do not go unseen. Not like I can do anything about it – and I know that I can’t simply turn away and pretend it is not destroying lives on a massive scale.

My top three interests (of today – and they could change tomorrow) have one thing in common: they are all processes that shape ‘reality’. They present through unique sets of events and are not limited to any of those events. Their patterns and interconnectivity are evidence of a direction – one that we are moving in as we allow ourselves to be taken by the raging current of the status quo. When I think of my children and their children to come, I trust completely that it is not any of these patterns, processes or events that will shape their futures – it will be their ability to trust that they see what they see, hear what they hear and know what they know….and choose accordingly. Regardless of what those around do or do not, their undenied and deeply honoured personal truth will be the great light that will illuminate the path ahead. Not an easy task when, collectively, we are trapped in and held tightly by the clenched fist of the coma of cultural conditioning.

It is not about climate change and what is (or is not) causing it.

It is not about transhumanism and its trajectory into shaping our future at an already break-neck speed.

It is not even about GMO’s and its implications for food supply.

It is about us. And we are too busy with what we’ve already always been doing… with what we have long believed and held as real and/or true… to notice that perhaps, we should be doing something else.

Perhaps, all that we can calibrate for around us is not about the content of what we are calibrating but the process of HOW we are calibrating. Perhaps, it is not about seeing new things but seeing through new eyes.
