In Canada, we had our own and early experience with this. Totally devoid of courage to engage in the simple act of opening a dialogue with the thousands upon thousands who both acted and supported the actions of the Truckers, our purportedly democratic government declared the Emergencies Act – a war act – and shut down, in the blink of an eye and from a completely arbitrary platform, the bank accounts of those that were deemed to be supporters of this legal, peaceful protest.
Without any notice, people lost their ability to provide for themselves and their families because they had contributed as little as $50 – via a legitimate and legal platform – to show their support of and alignment with a peaceful and legitimate public action.
February 14, 2022: The day democracy was brutally attacked in Canada – by its own government – and is still on life-support. Happy Valentine’s Day from the Prime Minister to the people he relentlessly promises to ‘keep safe’. Anyone else smell a rat?
